About me

Hi! I’m Akshay, the writer and owner of this blog. I started this blog to keep track of some of the major events in my life while also working on my writing. Originally, I actually coded everything behind this blog, but it didn’t work as well as I wanted it to. I ended up spending a lot of time maintaining it rather than writing on it or working on other things, so I decided to switch over to WordPress. Now the blog is pretty much just a place for me to write.

In this blog I write about many different aspects of my life, ranging from music, and sports, to technical projects and computer science research. Periodically, I also write down some of my thoughts about life and finance/business.

I’m primarily a computer science student, but I’m interested in a wide range of academic subjects including math, music, and biology. I spend a lot of my time coding for school, for work, and often times just for fun. Over the last year, I’ve gotten quite involved in computer science research, so I’ve recently been spending a lot of time reading research papers, studying textbooks and trying to figure out what kind of research I want to do in the future.

Outside of work, I play the guitar and the clarinet (but not the clarinet so much anymore). I’ve tried to start a band a couple of times, but most attempts have failed so that’s that. I also enjoy long distance running, and I hope to run a marathon sometime soon. I used to play soccer very competitively but in recent years I haven’t played that much at all and when I have it’s been mostly for fun. In 2008, I started playing competitive ultimate frisbee and it’s replaced running and soccer as my favorite form of exercise.

Apart from all of that, I spend most of the rest of my time hanging out with my friends, relaxing, or watching tv.
